Baby it's cold outside!
Not only is it cold, but it snowed today too! The beginning: Oct. 6th. Any guesses for the last snow of the season? My guess: April 24th. By then I'll hopefully be sitting in nice warm weather, preferably Georgia. I pulled out all the stops today, though: heater, blanket and corn bag. I just need to find some hot chocolate ASAP! Let winter begin if it must and I will play in the snow with all of my friends. I feel like I should be sticking my tongue out at the snow, "You can't stop me from having fun!"

Forget that last post, my brain is fried.
First week of school and I have totally forgotten how to read. This research paper I was doing a research paper kept saying things like, " This paper attempts to unlock the CSA." or "This paper attempts to provide the big picture." I kept thinking, "What does paper mean? Is it like tempers?" When I looked it up I realized that it means what it is: the paper itself. I think college is making my brain mush.
Unfortunately due to school I don't have time to upload pictures, mainly because the internet here is so dang slow. Maybe I'll do it this weekend on my three day break.

Advantage Mental Health
When I started interning at Advantage Mental Health a couple of weeks ago I didn't think I would like it as much as I actually do. I'm not doing much work with the patients; just gathering information from them and filing paperwork. But I really enjoy reading over their charts and seeing what brought them to where they are. And then to see the doctors and nurses work with these patients in order to help them be able to cope with their illnesses. This gets me so excited for grad school. But that can all wait, for now I'll just play with my niece and nephew, finish my online class and "enjoy" the Georgia heat. Thank-you summer!

MERHHH
That's how I feel. Merhhh. I'm tired from school, although I have enjoyed it and I'm tired of dealing with boys (both those who are no longer in my life and those that feel like they should be). Okay, now that I'm done complaining let me tell you how awesome my life is. My room mate made cupcakes this morning... SO DELICIOUS! I got to have lunch with my old room mate... LOVE HER AND WILL MISS HER WHEN SHE GETS MARRIED NEXT WEEK! The sun is finally out in Utah (It has taken a long time to get here) and with that comes a bit of an allergic reaction to the heat, but I got meds for it... SO GRATEFUL FOR DOCTORS! And lastly, I get to go home in a week, which means I will miss little Scott, Lena and Scott a ton, but so happy they will come for a Georgia visit this year... LOVE THEM!

Drugging Ducks
I heard about this prank that was done at BYU a couple years ago:
Dip bread in nyquil.
Feed Bread to ducks.
Put ducks in backpack.
Take backpack to library.
Release ducks in library.
Run.
BUT I was too scared to try that one (or any prank)... but I have to admit I was an accomplice to one last night. I don't think it's actually a prank, just trespassing, and trying to get yourself on Police Beat in the daily universe (school newspaper).
Go to Neil's apartment.
Borrow tent.
Have Neil equip the criminals with sleeping bags, pads, hot water and food.
Send Katy and Camille onto campus to "camp-us"
This is where my friend Beatriz and I come in...
Wake up at 4 a.m. (in our house and nice warm beds)
Check and see if Katy and Camille are back.
Drive to Wal-Mart
Look for air horns.
FAIL.
Find bicycle horns instead.
Drive back to the Villa.
Walk to campus.
Search for Camille and Katy.
FAIL
Go home.
Fall asleep.
Have weird and crazy dreams for two hours.
I LOVE MY LIFE!

Did you eat dinner with your family tonight?
As a college student, I don't get many opportunities to eat with my family. However, just thought you would like to know that the family that eats together really does stay together. I'm writing a research paper on the effects of family dinners and how to implement them into your busy schedule. Family dinners have been positively associated with a better social life for kids, less drug and alcohol abuse and better communication skills at an early age. Who wouldn't want to give this to their kids. While family time is crunched here are a few things the experts, as well as moms, are giving us: IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE AN EXTRAVAGENT MEAL! Even 30 minutes a day is better than no time at all. DON'T OVER-SCHEDULE YOUR KIDS. We all have lots to do... school, work and extracurricular activities are all necessary, but when they get in the way of quality family time we are hurting, rather than helping, the family.
Now, I know that I don't have a family yet, but I think this is helpful. What about you? My teacher actually asked me to get some feedback from mothers who have implemented the ideas of doing family dinners, so what do you think? What is most helpful for you and your family?

I hate being sick.
My throat is burning and my head feels like it's about to explode. But, life must still go on. On the agenda for today?
- Group meeting for a presentation on Monday at 10.
- Write an American Heritage paper.
- Do American Heritage reading
- Write English paper
- Practice Piano
- Start 2nd English paper
- Make note cards for American Heritage
- Take library tour
- Try not to die
And of course I have to do something of value when I feel like this...
- Go watch the American Piano Duo at the HFAC.
Is life good? Oh YES!
